St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations in Houston

Although once a Roman-Catholic holiday, St. Patrick’s Day is now celebrated by many in America. Where will you spend your St.Patrick’s day Celebrations in Houston?

St. Patrick’s Day Parade: Houston

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a long standing event in Houston and is one of the historically largest parades in the United States! You’ll find Irish-inspired floats, clydesdales, and parade festivities at the events for both children and adults. Grab some food and get your face painted in shamrocks in the Vendor Area. This year the parade is on March 11th from noon to 2:00 pm in Downtown Houston. You can download the parade route here.  Of special note: If you park in metered parking, be sure to “feed the meter” as parking is enforced down town!

St. Patrick’s Festival: Houston

In the Montrose neighborhood, about five minutes from downtown, is Griff’s Irish Pub. From March 3-17th, you can Shake your Shamrocks with food, beer, and St. Patrick’s Day events. Check the day’s listing for a run-down of the food, competition, and music on each day and night.  March 11th, you can Get Shamrocked at Grif’s live music event. March 11th there will also be an Irish cooking competition at Griff’s where you can enjoy both beer and food from your favorite Irish Chef’s.

St Paddy’s Pub Crawl: Houston

In the Midtown district, you can patronize your favorite bars on a pub-crawl. Mid-town Drinkery Bar and Grill is one favorite destination! Also check out The Gorgeous Gale and St Arnold Brewing Company. (These events are 21 and over!) We hope you get to shake you shamrocks and have a festive and safe St. Patrick’s Day and St. Paddy’s Day weekend.
